Anatomical Boundaries

Cranial

At the level where the cervical bulge is not visible in patients with an intact uterus. In patients who have undergone a hysterectomy, the superior border extendes to include the topmost slice where the vaginal vault is visible and includes portions of the vascular pedicle at the superior aspect of the vaginal vault.

Caudal

2 cm below the lower border of the symphisis pubis on the axial image

Medial

NA

Lateral

Covers the external contour of the vagina but excluding the pelvic floor muscles

Ventral

Upto the urethra

Dorsal

Upto the analcanal and rectum
